Main purpose of the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Planning Manager to join us in this new role as part of our Group Land Function. This role will ideally be based from our head office near Doncaster, however there is a certain amount of flexibility with agile working, and the possibility for the candidate to be based from one of our other regional offices.
The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding, supporting and upskilling our regional Land and Partnership and Technical teams to deliver commercially structured and legally robust planning consents in a timely and consistent way to underpin our outlet growth plans.
They will review, define and manage a corporate framework to support the regions to manage the planning process from start to finish.
The Group Planning Manager will also upskill and train regions as required on both the group processes for both the management of planning within the business and the planning system itself through a mixture of training modules, guidance notes and case studies. They will also deal with any contentious or challenging planning issues, get involved in the Capex Process to advise the Capex Committee on all planning matters and represent the businesses interests externally within the context of the planning system on matters such as national policy consultations.

They will take a straightforward approach and have thorough knowledge and understanding of planning law and the planning process. They will be passionate about planning within the housebuilding industry and be team and customer focused.
Education and Qualifications
We are looking for someone with experience in a similar role with an understanding of the housing market and housing development. They will have a property related or relevant degree e.g. town/urban planning/real estate/law and be a Chartered Planner.
