Job Description
Infrastructure Engineer - 6 Month Contract
This is an exciting new opportunity for a full time Infrastructure Engineer to join a company based in Southend-on-Sea on a 6 month basis initially, with the possibility of extension/a permanent position.
Our client is open to the successful candidate being 90% remote, however you will need to attend the office in Southend-on-Sea occasionally for meetings etc. Free parking is available.
The successful candidate will be building and monitoring systems, responding to alerts and trouble tickets, as well as leading improvement initiatives within the technology infrastructure for the business. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm and will be paying a day rate of £200-£250.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
Installing Microsoft software including SQL Server, Hyper V, IIS, and Remote Desktop Services
Maintaining a variety of systems including Windows VMs in Hyper V, Azure, and AWS
Responding to IT alerts and queries to ensure all IT issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
Troubleshooting customer issues using Remote Desktop Services
Ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems and enabling business's to operate ITAS software with a high level of performance and reliability
Maintaining access to customer systems supporting internal users connecting via a variety of systems
Investigating issues relating to performance and stability of ITAS software running on customer infrastructureEssential Skills and Requirements:
At least 5 years' experience supporting Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems
Knowledge of Internet Information Services Management, IT infrastructure, and scripting languages
Experience building and documenting processes and workflows
Analytical, with excellent attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Problem solver and self-motivatedMust be available to begin immediately.
