Sales Director – New Business


We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing PE-backed software company with a focus on the Public Sector.


Following several years of successful growth (predominately through existing customer development), they are looking to increase their market share with new customers.


A crucial part of their strategy is to build and develop a strong and dynamic new business sales team, that continues to maintain an exceptional track record of providing outstanding software solutions and services to clients.


This role is ideal for a motivated leader with a proven sales background, a passion for growth, and the ability to inspire and drive a team to achieve exceptional results.


Position: Sales Director – New Business

Location: United Kingdom (hybrid)

Salary: £120k-£130k basic + uncapped OTE + achievable equity equity


Role and Responsibilities:


Team Leadership: Lead and manage a new business sales team of 6, setting ambitious sales targets, creating strategic sales plans, and fostering a culture of high performance.


Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies to penetrate new customers, drive revenue growth, and ensure the team meets or exceeds sales targets.


Coaching & Mentoring: Provide ongoing support, coaching, and development to the sales team, ensuring continuous improvement in skills, processes, and sales techniques.


Reporting & Analytics: Use data-driven insights to monitor sales performance, create forecasts, and make informed decisions to steer the sales strategy effectively.


Key Qualifications:


Sales Expertise: Strong experience in managing a sales team, preferably within the software space in Public Sector markets (knowledge of Local Government would be advantageous)


Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in motivating, coaching, and driving a high-performing sales team.


Excellent Communication Skills: Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to build and sustain relationships at all levels, including C-suite stakeholders.
