Role Description

We’re looking for an energetic and collaborative Senior National Account Manager with multi-channel experience and an infectious passion for food, flavour and brands to join our dynamic team.

D2 are a fast moving and innovative business with bold ambition and a big appetite. We’re shaking up mealtimes by providing consumers with game-changing flavours from elevated snacking, condiment, and meal solutions.

As Senior/National Account Manager you will be supporting our Head Of Grocery in developing the range and expanding distribution of our exciting portfolio of food brands, primarily within the grocery, discount and convenience sectors, with the aim of making our products a staple in every shoppers’ basket.


We’re all about collaboration, so in addition to working as part of our close-knit, D2 family, you’ll be managing and building our relationships with customers and using your understanding of their businesses and strategy to identify gaps for our products to fill. Where we don’t have an immediate solution for a business need you’ll be collaborating with our NPD Manager to ensure that we maximise the potential of every account.

You’ll need to be someone who’s super hungry to take a hands-on approach to owning relationships with buyers you’ll be directly involved in almost all aspects of commercial strategy and range development, from farm/factory to fork, with the ability to create your own success story.

The successful candidate will need a finger on the pulse with customer and food trends, possess sound commercial knowledge and acumen and the ability to frame and deliver JBPs. You’ll also need the imagination to find innovative solutions to make the best of all challenges and opportunities along the way. Working alongside our Head of Grocery, you’ll monitor and manage product performance, maintain sensible forecasts, and keep the team up to date with your successes and ongoing plans.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive our customer approach, building our understanding of the customer and meeting their needs through our existing and new products/Brands.
  • Create and deliver your action plan, showing what you’re going to do and the resources you require to do it best. You’ll need an appreciation of promotions and other activities to drive visibility, awareness and trial at the fixture and online
  • Be the main communication point with your customers, working with the buyers, planners, merchandisers and npd teams
  • Monitor sales of our range and the overall category, to become a trusted partner to your buyer
  • Be laser like in your forecasting to make sure we deliver on time in full, and manage our stock
  • Be a key part of our team, liaising regularly with your colleagues in Marketing, NPD, Procurement and Operations

Experience:


  • 3+ years' proven sales experience within the grocery/retail sector, ideally having experience working with a selection of top 4 mults, convenience retailers and/or discounters. Wholesaler and symbol groups experience a bonus
  • Great understanding of the UK grocery/retail market
  • Previous role as National Account Manager/Sales Manager, role suitable for an ambitious NAM/SNAM looking to take their next step
  • Strong Commercial understanding - commercial modelling, forecasting, and pricing. (You also need to know your way around excel & presenting concise models)
