Technical Buyer

Engineering Buyer – Doncaster - £35,000 - £40,000

Elevation Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced and resilient Engineering Buyer to join a market leading engineering business based near Doncaster.

As the Engineering Buyer, you will understand the technical and functional aspects of products with an appreciation of raw materials, machined components and subcontract manufacturing processes & services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with Engineering and Production colleagues to analyse engineering BoMs and implement these into robust supply chain solutions
• Define, negotiate, and implement procurement strategies
• Establish structured and regular reviews with suppliers to present performance results and drive improvement plans
• Be responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Support stakeholder requirements for new customer bids through a structured process and develop strategies to expand technological advancements in support of customer requirements
• Development of strategic supplier base to maintain a competitive marketplace utilising low-cost country sources or new market entrants where appropriate

Hours: Monday to Thursday (8am to 4:30pm) and Friday 8am to 1pm

Required skills & experience:

• Experience in purchasing/procurement within an engineering/manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and identify parts from technical drawings
• Strong negotiation skills
• Proactive problem solver, skilled in making informed decisions and finding innovative solutions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with hands-on experience in Excel
