Workshop Engineer

Job Description
Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Workshop Engineer for our client based in Hemel Hempstead on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will provide support to a range of machinery with a primary focus on keeping machinery in peak operating condition through scheduled maintenance, repairs and inspections.
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Investigate, diagnose and resolve customer reports of technical problems with equipment
· General Engineering duties which include working at height, beneath and within all machines.
· Repairing and maintaining machines using lifting equipment supplied.
· Driving and moving of machines inside and outside of the workshop.
· Servicing of a wide variety of machines within the workshop.
· Complete paperwork and timesheets in a timely manner.
· Request parts efficiently and effectively.
· Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.
· Supervise other workshop engineers, when required, to ensure that a high quality of work and safe working procedures are maintained.
· Assist in booking machines in and out
· Ensure the machines are ready for transport collections
· Ensure compliance with relevant procedures when repairing and inspecting equipment.
· Maintain control of warranty parts returns to the parts department.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications:
· Solid mechanical aptitude
· Minimum 5 years machine repair experience
· Knowledge of engines, alternators, control panels and wiring diagrams
· Diagnostic and leadership skills able to work in a team or alone
· Driving License
· Excellent verbal, written and critical thinking skills
· Proficiency with MS Office
Working hours are Monday – Friday 40 hours weekly with overtime available.
In return our client offers a salary between £15.00 - £18.00 per hour, with overtime paid at time and a half.
