Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with strong expertise in business intelligence (BI) and Oracle systems to join our dynamic team on a contract bases for a company within the Financial Services. The successful candidate will work on designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, data models, and dashboards, while ensuring data governance and integrity across various platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial services industry, leveraging advanced technologies to drive business insights and decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Data Warehousing : Build and maintain components of the data warehouse on Teradata (3NF) to ensure efficient data storaOrage and retrieval. Data Visualization : Develop and present data dashboards and visualizations using Power BI to provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Data Integration : Work with various data sources and integrate them into the data warehouse using tools like Hive, MSSQL, and Teradata. Data API Development : Create and manage data APIs to ensure seamless data flow between systems. Data Governance & Documentation : Ensure compliance with data governance standards by documenting data definitions, creating business glossaries, and obtaining approval for data models before use. Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, business stakeholders, and IT, to ensure data solutions meet business needs. Optional Expertise : Experience with Ab Initio would be considered a bonus for managing large-scale data processing tasks. Required Experience and Skills: Expertise in Teradata , Power BI , MSSQL , and Hive . Familiarity with Oracle data solutions. Strong experience in building and maintaining data warehouse components in a financial services context. Knowledge of data governance practices, including documenting data definitions and managing business glossaries. Strong skills in data integration and creating data pipelines using APIs. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle large volumes of data efficiently. Ab Initio experience is a plus. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 8 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role within the financial services industry.
