Job Description

Position Overview:

I am currently looking for a passionate, innovative, and dedicated expert with experience in solving complex heat dissipation challenges for satellites. In this role, you will collaborate closely with mechanical and electronics teams to ensure the reliable performance of a satellite systems, even in extreme temperatures exceeding 300°C. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a thermal control system from the ground up, ensuring mission success.


Please note, you will be joining a start up, it will demand a deep commitment and enthusiasm for space technology. This will also initially be a 6 month contract.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Apply your knowledge of thermal control design principles for satellites, both in theory and practice.
  • Conduct steady-state and transient thermal analyses for spacecraft systems, monitoring performance during ground tests, thermal vacuum (TVAC) testing, launch, and orbital operations.
  • Provide expert guidance to hardware development teams, advising on design decisions with a strong understanding of materials, thermal properties, and heat dissipation strategies.
  • Lead trade studies for material selection and subsystem hardware.
  • Offer leadership and support in developing TVAC test procedures, scripts, and installation designs.
  • Drive the development of thermal systems, including defining system architecture, modeling, component sizing, and detailed design.
  • Proficiency in FEM analysis tools (such as Ansys) and experience with programming languages is required.
  • The position includes hands-on hardware work, so experience using lab equipment is essential.
  • As part of a growing startup, you will actively contribute to daily operations, company growth, and R&D planning.

Experience required:


  • Strong expertise in satellite thermal control systems.
  • Experience with both theoretical and practical thermal analysis.
  • Skilled in FEM analysis tools and programming.
  • Experience with hardware testing and lab equipment.
  • Passion for working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a commitment to space innovation.
