Data Architect – Johannesburg – R1.4m up to R1.6m per annum

You will be architecting the data platform layer, data cleansing layer, analytical layers and reporting. Understanding model features and linking them back to the transactional environment to understand data quality, data relationships and data availability. Requirements of the role: Provide Data Architecture (DA) support for the Data Engineering team. Documenting of DA for new data sources, metadata, and productionised information flow. Work closely with Data Engineer to facilitate Data Governance including access and security control. Working closely with the Data Engineers and Data Scientists to facilitate automated Data Quality checks and model drifts. Build, design and constant revision of the Model Execution Framework. Assist with the definition of custom meta data models for ELT/ETL. Profile new data sources in a variety of formats including JSON, XML, etc. Define data quality rules with Data Scientists to clean data. Define data mapping and transformation rules between source and data warehouse and data lake. Qualifications & Experience: Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Software Engineering with solid experience in data architecture 8 to 15 years of experience is preferred. Solution design and system analysis Data profiling Expert database knowledge in SQL Modern data warehouse design skills Experience working on large and complex datasets DevOps/DataOps and CI/CD experience Experience using Ralph Kimball methodology The Reference Number for this position is NG57916 which is a Permanent based in Johannesburg offering a cost to company of up to R1.4mil to R1.6mil per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
