Manual Machinist

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Manual Machinist to join a well-established company.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Salary: Up To £17.00 Per Hour, Depending on Experience (Overtime at 1.5 times hourly rate)

Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

About The Company:

Established in 1986 to provide a comprehensive and reliable source of non-standard and specialist valve types on short lead-times. The further introduction of standard valve products means the company is well placed to provide a single source solution for clients process valve requirements.

Part of a larger organisation with branches in USA, Canada, Singapore & Dubai. The UK operation is expanding and will shortly be moving to a £7m purpose-built facility approximately 2 miles for the current location.

About The Role:

From their facility just outside Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk they serve stocking facilities and distributers, supplying industrial valves to the Oil and Gas, Chemical and Food Processing industries worldwide.

They have a vacancy for a full-time machinist to work as part of a growing team on single and low volume orders.

Main Responsibilities:

Machine steel, stainless steel, alloy steels and exotic materials.

Use manual lathe, milling and drilling machines.

Work to engineering drawings.

Have a good work ethic, take pride in their work and work as part of a small team to achieve company goals.

Experience / Qualifications needed:

Metal turning experience using manual lathes.

Metal milling experience using manual turret and bed mills.

Experience working on horizontal and vertical borers an advantage.

Company Benefits:

Full-time, permanent employment.

Basic 40 hours per week + overtime as required.

Monday Thursday 07:45 17:00, Friday 07:45 12:45.
