Wireless Technology Standard and Industry Development Expert - Mandarin Speaking


Location: Edinburgh, Scotland.


We are seeking a Mandarin speaking wireless technology expert to join the Standards & Industry Development team, based in Edinburgh, Scotland. This role involves active participation in global wireless standards organizations and contributing to technical innovation, with a focus on short-range communications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company in international wireless organizations such as ISO/IEC JTC1 SC17, ECMA TC51, NFC Forum, Bluetooth-SIG, SparkLink Alliance, and GIIC Alliance. Contribute to the development of next-generation standards based on business needs, standardization strategies, and independent research.
  • Provide timely insights on wireless technologies, standards, and industry trends. Generate reports and offer feedback to local teams and headquarters, while defining strategies, work plans, and implementation approaches.
  • Collaborate with European and headquarters teams to ensure business alignment and support internal reporting and external presentations.
  • Drive the adoption and implementation of innovative applications and pilot projects based on cutting-edge wireless technologies and protocol standards to enhance business success in Europe.
  • Participate in international conferences to contribute to standards development and stay informed about the latest trends in the industry.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s or PhD in wireless communications, computer science, or Internet of Things.
  • Ability to produce insight reports based on policies, regulations, technologies, and market trends, with strong presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of technology standards, including RFID/NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, UWB, and NearLink.
  • Proven research experience with published works.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel globally as needed.
