Interim Cost Accountant

Handle are currently working with a live events company who are looking for an Interim Cost Accountant. The main purpose of this role is to work on a specific large-scale event, ensuring the budget is fully reconciled with the SAP accounting system. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified candidate, to gain some valuable experience at a hugely popular brand!

Key responsibilities include -

• Work closely with the Event Management team to monitor and update staffing and operational budgets, ensuring accurate and ongoing reconciliation of event costs
• Support Event Directors and other budget holders by continuously tracking, reviewing, and reconciling cost budgets to ensure accurate reporting
• Streamline event budgets, focusing on improving processes for staffing, operations, and expenses
• Take ownership of the event cost budget file
• Provide budget holders and departments with relevant spend updates throughout the event
• Monitor cash flow requirements based on invoice due dates

Candidate requirements -

• Qualified Accountant - ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
• Strong planning and organisational skills to meet multiple, and occasionally conflicting, deadlines
• Have strong financial accounting knowledge, as well experience in budgeting/forecasting
• Experience with SAP is highly advantageous
• Possess excellent commercial awareness
