We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Administrator to join the Electrical Engineering Team and be a part of helping us give the very best service to our customers. Could this be you?

The Electrical Engineering Team forms one of the 7 Teams that form the Engineering Section within Yorkshire Waters Asset Delivery Business Unit.

The Electrical Engineering Team delivers a myriad of projects and initiatives ranging from the delivery of standards and policy, to renewable energy initiatives, to the delivery of large scale High Voltage and Low Voltage Inspection Programs.

Should you be successful, as a Technical Administrator, your will provide administration support to the team of 9, comprising of Engineers, Technicians, Project Managers and yourself (an Administrator) forming the Electrical Engineering Team.

Where you fit in:

Your role will be varied, and no two days will be alike. As Technical Administrator you will be providing administration support services to the team covering such diverse subjects as; SAP functionality and data input to Asset Inventory, Engineering Document Management System (EDMS), Safsource administration and corporate data systems including MS Access. The role includes the production and control of reporting documentation produced through the various technical sections of Engineering in line with the Charter of Services.

As our Technical Administrator you will specifically be:-

  • Maintaining the Engineering Drawings and Documents and Asset Records generated by the large-scale High Voltage and Low Voltage Inspection and Testing Programs
  • Managing SharePoint sites used to share information between Yorkshire Water and the Partner Organisations managed by the Electrical Engineering Team
  • Support the management of site access for the High Voltage and Low Voltage Inspection and Testing programs, including managing:
    • Issuing/Updating ID Cards
    • Maintaining and Managing Key Lists
  • Support the management and resolution of safety issues identified through the work carried out by the department.

What skills & qualifications youll need:

  • Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to work across all levels and functions
  • Knowledge and ability to use corporate systems to update asset data e.g. SAP, SAFsource, Odyssey, EDMS and Asset Inventory
  • Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to proactively self-manage own workload whilst maintaining effective operational relationships
  • Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office products i.e. Office 365 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Access and Visio
  • Current valid driving licence and flexibility to travel across the Yorkshire region
  • Has experience in interrogating corporate technical data systems, analysing & interpreting data
  • Has a willingness to receive training.

You will also benefit from having:

  • Previous experience of customer management and providing customer services through verbal and electronic interfaces
  • Previous experience of ISO55000/PAS 55 Quality Assurance Systems
  • Previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment
  • Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
