Job Description

Blueprint Recruitment are working alongside a leading engineering design contractor who are on the lookout for a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join their Team. This long-term contact position provides an excellent opportunity to work within our client's Internal Design Team on some fantastic industrial, structures, and build projects. Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical delivery of a small portfolio of assignments, or sections of larger ones. Our client operates on flexible team structure, so there will be opportunities to work across a variety of sectors. This position is located in Wales, and requires the selected candidate to operate on a hybrid basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Apply sound engineering practices to prepare detailed designs, calculations, and deliverables following relevant standards.
  • Use BIM-led design and structural software tools like STAAD Pro, FEM Analysis, or Autodesk Robot.
  • Plan, manage, and organize projects to meet time, cost, and quality targets.
  • Prepare and control project budgets while ensuring compliance with quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Train and mentor Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Technicians, while coordinating teams for successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and the supply chain to develop project objectives and maintain strong relationships.

Key requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or suitable alternative qualification.
  • Good working knowledge, understanding and experience of the applicable Eurocodes, UK Industry Codes of Practice and ability to mentor others in their application
  • Willingness to work in other UK offices, clients' facilities for short term assignments by agreement.
  • Ability and willingness to attend site and agree buildable solutions during the design and construction phases often to tight deadlines
  • UK/EEC driving licence.
  • Chartered membership of an appropriate Professional body or working towards.
  • Strong technical design experience on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Customer focussed.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to varied workload/type.
