Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time

Pay: £85-£100 per day

Location: Hackney

Job Type: Full Time, Long Term

About the role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As an SEN TA, you will be working closely with children in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. You will be responsible for supporting students with SEMH needs, promoting their emotional wellbeing, and ensuring they are fully included in all aspects of school life. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to make a lasting impact on children’s lives.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs.

• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

• A commitment to inclusive education and ensuring every child is supported.

• Relevant qualifications or training in supporting children with special needs is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEMH needs.

• Assist in the development and implementation of individualised support plans.

• Help create a structured and supportive learning environment.

• Work closely with teachers and other school staff to ensure students’ academic and emotional needs are met.

• Encourage and support positive behaviour, promoting self-regulation and emotional resilience.
