Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time

Pay: £85-£100 per day

Location: Edmonton

Job Type: Full Time, Long Term

About the role:

We’re seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist to join our vibrant team in Edmonton, London. As an Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist, you will work closely with children from Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, offering tailored support to help them overcome barriers to learning. You’ll be working one-on-one and in small groups, assisting with their communication, social interactions, and functional skills. Your role will focus on building relationships with students to understand their individual needs, while providing the care and support necessary to help them thrive in their educational journey.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children with ASD is essential.

• Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.

• A proactive approach and willingness to adapt support based on the individual needs of each child.

• Strong communication skills, especially in working with teachers, parents, and external professionals.

• Relevant qualifications or experience in special educational needs (desirable).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored one-on-one and group support to students with ASD, focusing on communication, interaction, and emotional well-being.

• Work alongside teachers to adapt lesson plans and resources to meet the needs of students.

• Help students build functional skills, manage anxiety, and develop independence in their learning.

• Create a safe, nurturing environment where children feel understood and supported.

• Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.
