At the heart of a vibrant and diverse community, our school is more than just a place to learn—it’s a place where every child is encouraged to thrive. We believe in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel valued and inspired to succeed. Our dedicated staff work closely with students to cultivate emotional resilience and a growth mindset. You’ll find that we offer a caring, collaborative atmosphere where new ideas are welcomed, and staff development is encouraged. We take pride in our close-knit team and excellent resources, and we are committed to providing each child with the attention they need to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

About the role:

Our inclusive, well-established school in Newham is seeking a dedicated SEN TA to work alongside our talented teachers and supportive staff. The role focuses on providing tailored assistance to children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, who have been identified with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and present challenging behaviours. As our SEN TA, your role will focus on working one-on-one and in small groups with children who have specific behavioural and emotional needs. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to help young learners overcome barriers to education and develop the skills they need for a brighter future. You’ll be part of a wider team, helping to implement personalised learning and behaviour plans that make a real impact.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children with challenging behaviours, ideally within Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.

• A calm and patient approach, with the ability to de-escalate situations and offer emotional support.

• Previous SEN experience, particularly in SEMH settings, is highly desirable.

• A commitment to helping children overcome barriers to learning and developing positive relationships.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting students with challenging behaviours to improve their social and emotional development.

• Assisting the class teacher in implementing tailored educational and behaviour plans.

• Monitoring and recording progress to ensure the child is achieving key learning and developmental goals.

• Engaging students in learning activities that promote self-esteem, confidence, and a positive attitude toward school.

Perks and Benefits:

Enjoy a supportive and welcoming team environment with ample opportunities for professional growth, backed by excellent facilities and resources. Benefit from ongoing training and development to enhance your skills in working with SEN pupils, all while earning a competitive daily rate. This is your chance to make a genuine difference in children’s lives at a school that truly values compassion, dedication, and teamwork. Apply now and take the next step in your career!
