DescriptionInterventional Radiology Nurse Job DutiesAdministering anesthesia to patients either before or during proceduresMonitoring patients' vital signs during the procedure and reporting any changes to the physician or other staff membersPreparing patients for procedures by explaining the procedure to them, preparing them physically for the procedure (such as shaving a patient's head or administering sedatives), and setting up any equipment that is neededPreparing and arranging equipment for procedures such as MRI scans and X-rays, ensuring that all equipment is working properly before and after each procedurePreparing patients for diagnostic imaging studies such as MRI scans and CT scans by helping them disrobe and arranging them on a table or other equipmentPreparing patients for interventional procedures such as angiography or biopsies by inserting catheters into blood vessels or other body cavitiesPerforming interventional procedures such as biopsies or therapeutic interventions such as stent placements or angioplasty procedures to treat blood vessel blockagesHelping physicians perform procedures by holding retractors, suctioning blood, applying drapes, and removing specimensPerforming image analysis and reporting test results to physicians
