The below job description will outline this position of: Materials Planner
Typically, this person will be responsible for the BOM and project specific materials.
HSB Technicals client is a very established and well-regarded business entity.
Duties and responsibilities of the Materials Planner:Coordinate and administer the end-to-end flow of all materials in alignment with the build plan.Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production, Design/Engineering, and Project Management teams to establish standard and project-specific material requirements for GF BOMs and boat-specific BOMs.Manage the GF BOMs and boat-specific BOMs as directed by the Planning Lead.Ensure timely placement of purchase orders for boat materials (including stock, excluding VMI), in accordance with the Master Planning Schedule and expected installation dates, using the current business system, Navision.Exercise robust control over the demand creation process by managing and governing BOMs, ensuring due diligence in part number setup (in Navision), and aligning installation dates with material requirements.Oversee LTOs to ensure they reflect any changes to the build plan.Align planning lines with the overall Group Schedule.Generate management reports, KPIs, and detailed data views to provide insights into BOM completeness and purchasing activities.Reduce material waste through regular BOM reviews with relevant stakeholders.Serve as the on-site point of contact for material status updates.Participate in Production meetings to discuss shortages, milestones, and report on KPIs.
Qualifications and requirement for the Materials Planner:Proven experience in a Procurement/Supply Chain role within a production environment.Demonstrable experience working closely with Production teams.Experience with ERP, MRP, and WMS systems, ideally Navision or similar.Experience in process mapping and process improvement.
