We are currently recruiting for a suitably experienced senior Bookkeeper / Cashier. This opportunity arises due to the retirement of a staff member who has held this position for 45 years within our client's property business located in the south side of Glasgow.
As Senior Bookkeeper / Cashier, you will play a critical role in supporting business decisions and analysing the financial performance of the company. You will be responsible for preparing financial reports and to support decision-making.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, discreet, confident, organised, and
responsible.
The main duties will include:
- Processing of accounting transactions.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Preparation of HMRC VAT returns on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Process journals including prepayments & accruals.
- Bank reconciliations.
- Insurance premium analysis
- General administrative and secretarial functions of a commercial property company.
Experience
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent IT Skills, including Sage line 50.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
The position will be office based, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Salary £45,000 per annum.
