Senior Flood Risk Engineer
Our client is looking for an experienced Flood-Risk Engineer to join their team in Greater Manchester, due to continued growth and client demand. As a Senior Flood Risk Engineer, you will be responsible for completing flood risk assessments for planning applications, surface water management plans, drainage impact assessments and much more. You will also have the opportunity to manage small-scale projects and work with the geoenvironmental team for multi-disciplinary projects.

Responsibilities:
·Fee proposals - bid/tender preparation and fee proposals for both existing and new clients.
·Client and regulator liaison - liaison with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory/statutory authorities. Attendance at both client and regulatory meetings.
·Report writing - writing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS Assessments.
·Business Development - research and business development of potential new clients and development of the Flood Risk and Drainage Team.
·Project Management - Operating across a range of projects; work winning, budgetary control of project finances, liaison with wider team to carry out onsite work, site inspections and progress reporting.
·Mentor and Training - training and development of junior staff. The company also support self-development and staff are encouraged and supported to apply for chartership in their field.
Requirements:
·Strong bachelor's degree. An additional higher degree would also be an advantage.
·Well-established consultancy or industry experience in Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS Assessments.
·Substantial experience in undertaking Flood Risk Assessments in accordance with NPPF (and/or TAN 15).
·A good understanding of the workings of the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Lead Local Flood Authorities
·Up-to-date knowledge of current planning policies and procedures and how these can be utilised to maximise the level of service offered to our clients whilst gaining required approvals.
·High motivation for this specific opportunity.
·Self-motivated team player with exceptional people skills.
·Ability to work under own initiative while fully co-ordinating with line manager's requirements.
·Excellent communication skills.
·Full UK driving licence
