Job Description
My client, who is a Principal Contractor is looking for an experienced Site Manager to site manage a £11m JCT D&B extension comprising of new office space with bridge links, in central London.
The individual will be responsible for the day to day control and delivery of construction projects to meet customer specifications (quality, time, etc.) such that all risk, specification and project timescales are met in full.
Main Accountabilities:
* Manage the day-to-day delivery of construction projects; time, procurement, contractors
* Liaise with Project Manager or Contracts Manager to ensure that they are fully aware of project progress and are notified of all financial, specification and time risks.
* Manage sub-contractors, including the monitoring of contractor attendance and progress; provide direct instruction and support as necessary such that contractual arrangements are achieved.
* Comply with Site Managers responsibilities; Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and complete the relevant documentation on a weekly/monthly basis
* Ensure that safe working practices and safety procedures are fully implemented across the site/project/contract
* Ensure that detailed plans are available commensurate with the overall project plan such that material and resources can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines.
* Ensure all materials are delivered to site to meet production needs
* Ensure that all additional work is identified and that the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor or Contracts Manager is fully aware of all potential opportunities.
* Working under the direction of a Project Manager or Contracts Manager.
* Effective daily use of appropriate company information systems and databases
* Comply with Company policies, procedures and instructions at all times
* Implement new ideas and methods and continue to see ways of both improving contribution to the company’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the Company.
* Lead, motivate, communicate with, develop, appraise and performance manage staff to ensure staff are fully motivated to achieve best performance to meet the Company’s needs.
The ideal candidate will come from a main contractor background.
The package comes with 25 days holiday, pension and Life Insurance (x4 salary)
