Job Description
Are you a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for your next rewarding role? We are seeking a Qualified SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a primary school in Rowley Regis, working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who have Autism and complex needs. This is a full-time position, starting ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support young children with Autism in the EYFS setting, providing tailored assistance to meet their individual needs.
* Work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver high-quality, inclusive education.
* Foster a nurturing, supportive, and structured environment, helping children to achieve their full potential.
* Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour, using your patience and resilience to overcome obstacles.
* Support pupils with varying levels of communication and sensory needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and progress.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have previous experience working in the EYFS setting, particularly with children who have Autism.
* Be nurturing, patient, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with young children.
* Have a resilient attitude with the ability to manage challenging behaviour and situations with a calm and professional approach.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of SEND and the needs of children with Autism, applying this knowledge in daily practice.
* Hold relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent.
