Job Description
We are looking for Engineering Stores Coordinators to join our longstanding client in Rosyth, one of the largest seafood companies in the world and the largest producer of Atlantic salmon! The Engineering Stores Coordinator is a key role within the Engineering Department. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that engineering stockholdings are suitable and sufficient for the emergent, short and medium term needs of the department. This purpose extends to wider requirements such as ensuring that procurement is cost effective and ensuring that stores records are accurate and up-to-date.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
* Operating any required computer systems including engineering management system to order spare parts and stock as required
* Monitoring and reporting slow moving /obsolete / obsolescent parts on a monthly basis
* Acting as “owner” of the engineering stores and stores lay-down areas
* Maintaining the stores and lay-down areas in line with 5S principles
* Raising spend approvals
* Identifying and liaising with suppliers and internal customers to ensure that required assemblies, parts and consumables are cost effectively available as required
* Identifying and implementing continuous improvements to ensure that the store is easy to operate and maintained effectively
* Conducting periodic stock checks to ensure that recorded stock levels match actual stock levels
* Conducting periodic cost data updates to ensure that recorded values of stock holdings remain accurate
* Maintaining adequate controls within the engineering store to ensure that all parts and equipment are used effectively
* Working closely with Engineering Managers as well as working with the finance team
