Who You Are

• Previous experience in handy person and grounds maintenance tasks.


• Comfortable with numeracy and literacy, able to understand, diagnose, and report basic repairs.


• Experienced in public-facing roles, whether solo or as part of a team, able to work in various weather conditions.


• Flexible and cooperative, capable of performing physical tasks like climbing stairs and lifting objects.


• Knowledgeable about Health & Safety in the workplace, particularly in estate environments.


• Committed to providing high-quality, customer-focused service, achieving set standards in routine tasks.


• Basic knowledge and understanding of internal and external cleaning techniques (desirable).


• Experienced in diagnosing repairs for technical and housing management staff (desirable).

What the Job Involves

• Carrying out enhancement works including repairs, tenant garden maintenance, painting, and pressure washing.


• Monitoring internal and external estate areas, ensuring upkeep meets service standards.


• Removing bulk rubbish and graffiti, using powered equipment like strimmers and mowers.


• Clearing snow and frost from communal areas during abnormal weather conditions.


• Providing onsite presence, preventing vandalism, and reporting breaches of tenancy conditions.


• Liaising with housing officers, reporting problems, and ensuring proper maintenance of tools and materials.


• Inspecting estate services like lifts and waste containers, reporting defects, and ensuring timely repairs.


• Being the first point of contact for residents, addressing their issues or directing them to appropriate teams.


• Complying with Council policies, Health & Safety guidelines, and participating in related training and risk assessments.
