Group Accountant

Group Accountant / Widnes / £50,000 - £60,000

Accountable Recruitment are proud to be exclusively partnering with our client who are a leading global organisation to recruit a highly skilled Group Accountant. This is a newly created role within this growing finance team. If you have a strong technical background and experience with consolidated reporting, this could be the next step in your career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of Group consolidated accounts, ensuring timely and accurate financial data.
• Lead monthly balance sheet reconciliations and associated schedules.
• Conduct monthly revenue reconciliations between ERP and non-integrated systems.
• Review and reconcile intercompany balances, ensuring agreements and eliminations are handled efficiently.
• Manage the preparation of Group and European monthly management reports, providing variance analysis and insightful commentary on financial performance.
• Collaborate closely with teams overseas to meet month-end and year-end financial deadlines.
• Present financial performance and insights to senior management during monthly performance review meetings.
• Support the budget setting and forecasting cycles, working collaboratively with finance colleagues.
• Liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth year-end processes.
• Play a vital role in the implementation of a new ERP system.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA accountant.
• Strong technical expertise, particularly in consolidated and statutory reporting.
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to manage and interpret large data sets.
• Highly organized, structured, and detail-oriented.
• Proactive and accountable, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
