Job Description

Due to new project wins, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Sampler Technician to help support our operation in West Thurrock.You will assist Cargo Inspectors during cargo commodity-related inspection services performing sampling and volume/temperature measurements to ensure that the customer receives an independent, accurate, and complete assessment of the quantity and quality of materials during transportation.

Required Skills and Experience:

Good IT literacy skills

  • Must have a full clean UK driving license
  • Ability to gain knowledge of sampling techniques and relevant laboratory operations/standards and properties of relevant petroleum products
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service
  • Motivated, self-starter
  • Encourage teamwork (promote operational synergies and alignment) to support each other, and our customers and grow together
  • Highly energised mindset with willingness and desire to learn and adapt individually as well as creating an environment for people to grow
  • Excellent customer service skills


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Sampler Technician will collect samples to and from the Caleb Brett offices in the southeast daily, as well as sampling petroleum and chemical samples from all stages of processing, both on and off-site at client facilities, by approved and agreed techniques when necessary. You will be driving to collect samples, drawing samples, conducting measurements, assisting our cargo inspectors

Key activities:

  • Carrying out sampling duties using approved techniques as directed
  • Carrying out testing of required samples using approved techniques as directed
  • Travelling to and from client/Intertek facilities as required and collecting/transporting samples in compliance with road traffic regulations, back to the required locations.
  • Completing daily vehicle condition sheets
  • Completing fleet sample collection logs
  • Assist in maintaining sample retention stores in good working order.
  • The standard working pattern for this role will be Monday to Friday 06:00 18:00, split between two staff on rotation, with the requirement to work overtime occasionally.
