Quantity Surveyor

A privately-owned cross-sector principal contractor is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their civil engineering team on a permanent basis. This company have enjoyed a successful run of project awards in the across Scotland and are looking to expand their existing team to deliver this additional workload.

Our client is firmly established themselves with Civil Engineering sector across Scotland as well as the UK, covering a wide range of projects including: infrastructure, renewables, land remediation, landscaping, drainage, culverts, residential developments and frameworks. They have a gained a great reputation for completing some of the UK's most recognisable and technically challenging projects.

This role would be suited to an experienced Quantity Surveyor who will be able to hit the ground running, reporting into the Commercial Manager and working alongside experienced Surveyors. As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for commercially managing multiple projects from tender through to final account, providing commercial assistance to operational teams and others when required. Initially you will be working on notable civil engineering project in Stranraer, with a mixture of site and home based work.

As a Quantity Surveyor, your key responsibilities will be:

• Overseeing projects from tender through to final account.
• Producing accurate forecasts of project costs.
• Commercial reporting.
• Providing commercial assistance to operational teams & others when required.
• Interacting with internal & external decision makers.

Experienced required:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.
• Previous experience within a similar role within the Civil Engineering sector.
• Organisation skills required for managing multiple projects at one time.
• Good interpersonal & negotiation skills, as well as the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
