Principal Database Engineer

Role; Principal Database Engineer.

Salary; Up-to £115,000

Brio Digital are currently supporting a well know FinTech company who are on the lookout for multiple Principal Database Engineers.

Suitable for Lead/Managers too who are still extremely hands-on.

Database Engineer Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases to ensure data integrity, performance, and security.
• Optimise database performance through indexing, query tuning, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database-related needs and initiatives.
• Perform regular database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure maximum uptime and responsiveness.
• Evaluate and implement new database technologies and features to enhance data infrastructure.

Database Engineer Experience:

• Proven experience as a Principal Database Engineer.
• PostgreSQL.
• MySQL.
• Strong understanding of database design, optimization, and maintenance.
• Proficient in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Experience with performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Knowledge of database security best practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
