Development Underwriter

Your new company

One of the largest MGA's in the UK, with offices all over the UK that specialises in the SME to mid-market Property & Casualty business. They have fantastic relationships with their panel of brokers and put their clients at the centre of their underwriting strategy.

After several years of positive performance, this company is now looking to add a Development Underwriter to their new business team within the Hampshire area on a fully remote working basis.

Your new role

Duties & responsibilities:

• Handle all new business opportunities
• Operate collaboratively with the brokers in the region and build positive relationships to increase the flow of new business activity.
• Reviewing and underwriting of new business quotations across all products within their underwriting appetite including any queries within the SLA’s of the business.
• Undertake Broker Visits and Underwriting desks at Broker offices to increase brand awareness and establish contacts.
• You will be handling all Commercial Combined/ Contractors combined business
• Acting within agreed underwriting authorities

What you'll need to succeed

• 5+ Years of experience as an Underwriter
• New business experience, with the ability to meet/speak with brokers weekly
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent team working with good organisational skills to ensure that company processes and procedures are followed.
• Ability to work without supervision remotely. Deep knowledge/ relationships with insurance brokers
• Experience of managing broker relationships
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ideally, you will need to be able to drive.
