MEP Manager (Mechanical and Electrical Manager) Opportunity

We are working on behalf of a leading construction business that specialises in large-scale, high-value projects, from contemporary new builds to period refurbishments. This is a main contractor that works on projects from £5 - £80 million projects. Main Responsibilities:

  • Review design information for accuracy and completeness, raising RFIs where necessary to ensure sub-contractors have the required information for timely installations.
  • Assist in reviewing tender packages with project QS to ensure correct interpretation of drawings, specifications, and appropriate allowances.
  • Arrange and chair sub-contractor progress meetings for various sub-projects, with action points and deadlines.
  • Hold regular design review meetings with relevant stakeholders, including the MEP designers and project management team, ensuring all actions are clearly documented.
  • Work with the site management team to develop short-term programmes and identify potential risks, implementing mitigation measures to maintain progress.
  • Assist the QS team with on-site assessments to develop accurate monthly valuations of the MEP elements.
  • Liaise with the Quality Manager to ensure compliance with the project quality plan.
  • Ensure that the latest construction issue drawings are being used for installation on-site.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Ideally have experience working on the refurbishment of listed buildings.
  • Ideally have experience delivering high-end, “super prime” residential projects.
  • Ability to confidently manage sub-contractor teams at a senior level.
  • Maintain a professional attitude in communication and presentation.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills to ensure the best outcomes for all parties involved.
