Job Description

You will be working on the UK's next-generation SSN design incorporating technology from the UK, Australia, and the United States. As part of this team, you will define the needs of equipment and the system elements required for the submarine design and build process. This includes creating design documentation, spatial modelling, and build outputs. Additionally, relocation support packages are offered across all submarine roles, subject to eligibility criteria.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment
  • Authoring and reviewing technical documentation
  • Managing associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Providing advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines
  • Engaging with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems
  • Taking a leading role by guiding more junior members of the team through the systems definition process
  • Opportunity to travel to various locations throughout the UK, including various BAE, customer, and supplier sites


Job Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering experience
  • Engineering Chartership required (or significant progress towards Chartership can be demonstrated)
  • Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
