Job Vacancy: Teacher/Leader of Computer Science

Location: Central Hampshire
School Type: Independent Secondary School
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Position: Teacher of Computer Science (Potential for Head of Department for the Right Candidate)

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Teacher of Computer Science to join a dedicated team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach Computer Science across Key Stages 3 to 5 and may have the potential to take on the role of Head of Department. This is a full-time, permanent position with a start date as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons across KS3 to KS5, engaging students with innovative teaching methods and cutting-edge technology.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and challenging Computer Science curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Foster a passion for Computer Science among students through inspiring and creative teaching practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Computer Science department, including curriculum development and pedagogical strategies.
  • For candidates interested in the Head of Department role, lead and manage the Computer Science department, including staff development, departmental planning, and strategic direction.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Computer Science at KS3 and KS5 is essential.
  • A strong understanding of current Computer Science curriculum and examination requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Proven ability to use technology effectively to enhance learning.
  • For the Head of Department role: Demonstrated leadership experience, strong organizational skills, and a strategic vision for the development of the department.
