Business Development Manager

£50k-£70k (inclusive of bonuses and full package)

Coventry (Heavily field based role Nationwide)

Monday-Friday Full Time Role

Our client are seeking an experienced and dynamic industry leading individual to join their team as a National Business Development Manager. This role is designed for a seasoned professional with deep industry knowledge and a strong network within the field. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, increasing sales activity, and building long-term relationships with both prospects and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the industry, leveraging your existing network and industry expertise
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both prospective and current clients to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets, aligning with the company's overall business objectives
  • Market Insight: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to develop informed sales strategies and identify new opportunities
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and detailed reports on sales activities, pipeline development, and business outcomes to senior management
  • Travel: This is a nationwide role, requiring extensive travel across the UK. You will be on the road five days a week, meeting clients and prospects in person

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Industry Expertise: Proven experience within the Freight, Haulage and Transport industry, with a well-established reputation and network
  • Sales Experience: Solid experience in a sales management or business development role, with a demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Networking: Strong ability to build and leverage relationships within the industry to drive business growth
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively
  • Self-Motivated: Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs
