Job Description

Your future team:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to join our Defence Infrastructure team working on high-value NEC projects.

Your missions:

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex projects, ensuring their successful delivery from inception to completion. You will be required to:

Lead the development and execution of comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines, ideally within NEC principles/guidelines.

Develop strategic project approaches, resource plans, and risk management strategies.

Build and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and external partners.

Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, forecasting, monitoring expenditures and taking corrective actions to maintain budget compliance.

Conduct project reviews, lessons learned exercises, and implement improvements based on best practices by enforcing quality management processes and procedures.

Provide input to senior management regarding project prioritisation and resource allocation.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills to be successful:

This role requires a strategic thinker with advanced project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while driving the achievement of project goals. To be successful in your application you should have:

✔️ 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

✔️ Proven success in managing complex projects throughout the project lifecycle.

✔️ In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices, ideally aligned with NEC principles.

✔️ Strong stakeholder management abilities, with experience in influencing and managing expectations at all levels.

✔️ Background in engineering consultancy and experience in infrastructure projects.

✔️ Demonstrable experience in running NEC projects, change control management, risk management, and budget management.

✔️ APM Project Professional Qualification or equivalent.

✔️ NEC Project Manager certification is desirable.

✔️ MAPM qualification is desirable.

Additional Information

Permanent Staff position

Hybrid working ideally from our Sunderland office but Glasgow or Derby office bases considered.

BPSS required to start but SC will be needed.
