Job Description

WHO ARE WE?

COMPANY:

We are a dynamic French company founded in 1995 whose business is centered around stable isotopes and consumables used in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), positron emission tomography (PET), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and mass spectrometry (MS). These technologies cover a wide range of applications from medicine, health, petrochemistry, food and beverage, to materials and organic chemistry.

Thanks to constant innovation over the past few years associated with massive investments in R&D, we have been able to competitively manufacture at small/medium scale a wide range of catalog or custom-made chemical grade labeled compounds with stable isotopes.

Innovation in chemistry, in technology and in biotechnology, in-house capability at Les Ulis, France, worldwide collaborations with-leading institutions, excellent, passionate and creative team has brought the entire company to an advanced level of recognition within all kind of industries.

We are now taking a step forward with few molecules for preclinical and clinical applications, and with several highly valuable precursors at few tons scale.

We are now looking for our Chemical Engineer Scientist

With about 20+ employees at our site at Les Ulis, half of which are researchers holding a PhD, you are joining the company at the perfect time as we are looking to quickly expand our team in the next few years, including setting-up the entire Production and Process Development team.

We also have small teams in our offices in New York, USA and in Bangkok, Thailand you will interact with as we scale up.

YOUR ROLE TO PLAY

As a Chemical Engineering Scientist, you will lead the development of synthetic processes for organic molecules at the laboratory scale, prior to their transfer to production.

WHAT ARE YOUR MISSIONS?

  • Developing processes with a focus on scale-up: optimizing liquid or gas phase synthetic routes for molecules containing stable isotopes (2H, 13C, 15N, 17O, 29Si) in terms of yield, synthesis time, and identification of critical parameters.
  • Internally developing our own innovative manufacturing processes in batch, fed-batch, or continuous flow (isotopic exchange, hydrogenation, etc.).
  • Utilizing and improving the various reactors developed within the company from laboratory scale up to the targeted production scales, including automation and technical criteria.
  • Monitoring scale-up in the kilolab.
  • Providing support to production during the process validation phase.
  • Developing new analytical and chemical tools, offering technical assistance.
  • Integrating into a project team and regularly reporting on the progress of work.
  • Eventually managing 1 to 2 technicians.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices).

WHO ARE YOU?

YOUR PROFILE

  • A chemist with at least an engineering degree in chemistry (or equivalent), ideally with a strong background in chemical engineering.
  • A first experience in research and development in the industry is expected.
  • You are results-oriented and have a strong interest in early-stage technological developments.
  • An interest in programming and prototyping is a plus.
  • You are organized and communicate your results with ease.
  • You are capable of planning, setting objectives, and deploying a strategy to achieve them.

YOUR PERSONNALITY

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Structured in your work (experimental design, report writing).
  • Rigor, teamwork, creativity, client-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a competitive commercial environment.

OUR OFFER

  • You will work on exciting, high-level, and challenging projects, in a brand-new modern building equipped with state-of-the art labs and apparatus, located at the fast-expanding Paris-Saclay high-tech hub.
  • We provide a dynamic and challenging international environment, which will stretch your abilities and channel your talents.
