Job Description

Carbon60 are working alongside a very well-known global airline, whose cargo division are searching for an experienced Digital & IT Domain Architect.


Job Overview

Reporting directly to the Head of Enterprise Architecture, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that all solutions within your domain are both technically robust and provide the best fit for the wider business. You will be offering technical guidance for continuous improvement in vital business solutions.


Main Responsibilities

  • Ownership and accountability for the delivery and ongoing viability of the various technical solutions deployed across the domain.
  • Maintain a view of technical solutions within a specialist business domain, ensuring technical integrity and alignment with business requirements.
  • Support the airline in understanding and interpreting the capabilities within a specific domain, ensuring design is consistent with the architecture and meets both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Provide expertise in driving forward technology solutions, ensuring alignment with the business and technical strategic vision and goals.
  • Define solutions to complex business problems using a wide range of artefacts, methods, and tools.
  • Provide technical oversight and facilitate complex issues resolution arising during project delivery.
  • Build strategic supplier relationships where third-party work or packages involve significant architectural decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to architectural principles, standards, best practice, and roadmaps.
  • Resolves or escalates potential non-compliance.
  • During the implementation phase, ensures any deviations from the agreed solution are managed with the project and reviewed with the Enterprise Architects to deliver a successful outcome.


Essential Experience

  • 5+ years in a senior architecture role.
  • Proficiency in operating within both Agile and Structured delivery environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
  • TOGAF certification, or an equivalent qualification in IT architecture.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, balancing and finding compromises between opposing views and opinions.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure in a changing environment.
  • Strong risk management skills.


Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in the Logistics, Freight, or Courier industries.
  • Experience of major technology and business change programs.


Job Specifics

  • Type: Permanent (full time).
  • Salary: £79k + benefits.
  • Office Location: West London.
  • Working Flex: 2-3 days per week required in the office.
