Typical shift as a bank Housing Concierge

• There is so much more involved than just (night working), stuck in an office monitoring CCTV or patrolling the premises.
• The first line of support for our customers when our wider team or their own support network arent around to help!
• Youll manage the health and safety of the building, patrolling to check fire doors, making sure everything is locked and secure.
• Thinking on your feet and manage a situation on the spot, such as investigating suspicious activity or raising the alarm when we need to engage the emergency services.
• Finally, if there is time, youll also help us make sure that everything is clean and tidy, so you need to be ok with wielding the mop or broom as well!

You bring

• Calm under pressure with great communication skills
• You get a kick out of supporting the most vulnerable in society (maybe youve worked in public service, or the military). You know whats required to look after the public and our customers too.
• Youre sociable and interested in people and their stories and like getting to know people. You use your people insights and keen eye for detail to spot changes in behaviour.
• You recognise when things are about to go wrong and are confident intervening in a sensitive way.
• A team player with the confidence to work alone. Dont worry youll have the full back up of our wider team including our out of hours emergency support team.
• To get from A to B, youll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that well pay your mileage!
• If you are a real people person and are confident working in different services, locations, and teams, then this is the job for you.

Our team look after our customers who have some quite complex backgrounds and support needs. They may have histories of substance or alcohol dependence, offending histories or have a history of homelessness and nearly all have mental health support needs.

Our customers live within one of 5 buildings and have their own accommodation within these. Most of the accommodation buildings are within walking distance of each other but one is a little further away. Our team help them to develop and maintain independent living skills, so that they can successfully move on to their own independent accommodation.

Our team

Currently we have hours available inour accommodation services in Yeovil with our managers Agata and Nick. Our team of 3 Housing Management Coordinators and 7 Support Coordinators are all super passionate about what we do! Were a supportive bunch, and are there to support you too.

Job details

• Flexible working hours
• Were looking for you to work across all our services in Yeovil.
• Able to use technology for doing mandatory learning / keeping in touch with colleagues and updating handover logs.
• To get from A to B, youll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that well pay your mileage!
• Youll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
