We are recruiting for Planners to join our International Planning team, you will manage and optimize service quality across the operational network by analysing key data, forecasting volumes, and tracking performance. Your role involves providing critical information to stakeholders for effective decision-making and mitigating service risks. You will create and refine reports to streamline planning and forecasting processes. The position requires both daytime and nighttime shift rotation to ensure continuous network coverage.

You will be accountable for:

  • Assisting the International Planning & Service Manager and wider teams in implementing planning requirements, including forecasting, monitoring, and improving the full end-to-end parcel process (from International Gateway to Hub arrival and processing).
  • Suggesting and helping to implement key processes to monitor and improve key business KPIs, such as Master Airway bill management, landed to collected, and A-Scan measures.
  • Working directly with the International commercial team and external stakeholders on accurate forecasting and utilization of key data to optimize hub processing capabilities, transport plans, and operational CPUs.
  • Understanding international operating windows and processes to create accurate data for planning and service monitoring within the Hub and transport networks.
  • Producing daily reports containing volume, service level analysis, process, and resource requirements for the network.
  • Compiling and publishing weekly/monthly reports as required on network status and performance/compliance for distribution through Operations, from Director level and below.
  • Managing the international hub network according to the plan across the whole supply chain, from client pre-advice to processing, in alignment with Central Planning's volume management.
  • Providing key analysis/processing data and planning constraints, such as parcel machine throughputs and performance for network modelling.
  • Monitoring the accuracy of Forecast versus Actual Performance results to optimise labour and asset utilization and working with stakeholder groups to implement the practical use of this information.
  • Proactively identifying changes in activity within the Hermes network and effectively adapting planning. Assisting in the review of Hubs, Depots, and wider network activities for changes and events, including bank holidays, peak plans, and product changes.
  • Utilizing historical data and working with Hubs, Depots, and the wider network to install a culture of continuous improvement in planning, reducing cost, and improving quality by increasing the accuracy of process planning.
  • Escalating findings to the appropriate operational area, alerting them to the impact of non-action, advising recommendations for resolution, and working with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
  • Hosting daily network conference calls with Managers and Senior Managers across various network stakeholder teams, questioning service performance, and escalating issues so that failures are understood and avoided going forward.

To be successful in this role you will require the following

You will have an understanding of the Lean and other process improvement methodology & have experience in a similar role & have a strong commercial awareness

You will also have;

  • Working knowledge of systems used within Evri, BI, MI and SAP
  • PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office (strong Excel user) - SQL and VBA desirable
  • An understanding of the Evri operation
  • Numerate self-starter with excellent data interpretation and analytical capabilities
  • Strong and confident communication skills at all levels of the organisation
  • Highly credible and be able to influence and win the confidence of others
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a high-pressure environment, establishing effective working relationships at all levels
  • Flexible approach to work & willing to travel and stay away from home as required
