About the job you’re considering

• Provide expert consultation on the implementation and optimization of Siemens NX software in marine

engineering and shipbuilding projects.

• Analyze client requirements and business processes to develop tailored solutions that meet project

objectives and industry standards.

• Advise clients on best practices for using NX to enhance design, simulation, and manufacturing processes

in the marine industry.

• Lead and manage NX implementation projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and

adherence to quality standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and project managers, to ensure

seamless project execution.

• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful

outcomes.

• Develop and deliver training programs and workshops for clients to enhance their proficiency in using NX

software.

• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to clients, addressing technical issues and

ensuring smooth operation of NX solutions.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, training materials, and best

practice guides.

• Customize and configure NX software to meet specific client needs, integrating it with other systems and

tools as required.

• Develop scripts, macros, and other automation tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

• Conduct testing and validation of customized solutions to ensure they meet performance and functionality

requirements

• Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements in the marine industry.

• Provide insights and recommendations on how to leverage NX capabilities to address industry-specific

challenges and opportunities.

• Participate in industry events, conferences, and forums to represent the company and share knowledge.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.​

Your Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Functional Consultant with expertise in Siemens NX and

ideally a deep understanding of the marine industry. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering high-

quality solutions, providing strategic guidance, and supporting the implementation and optimization of NX

software for our marine projects. Your knowledge of marine engineering and shipbuilding processes, combined

with your technical proficiency in NX, will ensure the successful execution of complex projects.

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Extensive experience working with Siemens NX software, including design, simulation, and manufacturing

modules.

• Proven track record in the marine industry, with a deep understanding of shipbuilding processes,

standards, and regulations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex

challenges.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts

to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Project management experience, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., VB, Python) for NX customization is a plus.

• Willingness to travel to client sites as required


Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. ​

To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.​
