Production Planner

The Production Planners responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management. You should also be able to closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget. An exceptional Production Planner should demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly. This position is based in Cape Town. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate MRP requirements and propose optimal supply solutions to the business. Schedule jobs in accordance with business requirements with MRP and consider the production schedule and procurement lead times. Coordinate and identify long lead time items and mitigate any bottlenecks caused by the long lead time items. Plan and implement the material planning for all electrical items. Prepare procurement data packs with the help of the project managers to ensure materials are delivered timeously. Coordinate and assist in managing external suppliers builds of electrical equipment. Identify and expedite critical items through the supply chain. Verify resource availability (material, equipment) required for production to deliver, ensuring optimal inventory levels are kept to a desired level. Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production. Monitor and drive required changes to production schedules to ensure that deadlines are met. Promptly informing relevant departments of any changes that affects the current production schedules (Drawings and design changes). Participate in the development and implementation of an improved ERP system. Qualifications & Experience: Diploma (advantageous) or relevant experience in the supply chain and production environment, either as a Production Planner or relevant field 5 years experience as a Production Planner Must have own transport Must be proficient in all MS applications Must have sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and ERP related software Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills Please send your CV to rusteynnetworkrecruitment.co.za
