Job Description

You will have overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, implementation, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project. The position of Project Manager is a senior, mature and accountable position and as a Project Manager you will hold a position that is responsible for making decisions that will have a direct impact on the successful execution of projects. You will be responsible for the co-ordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope. The Project Manager must be able to make decisions on their own, take accountability for their decisions and not require guidance or assurance on every decision they make. The Project Manager will be aware of risks associated with projects and aim to control the risk and minimise uncertainty. As a Project Manager you must have a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts, as well as more general management skills. A Project Manager at the company must be able to adapt to the nature and uncertainties of each project and be able to apply their knowledge and experience to every challenge they faces and find the most practical solutions to make things happen. We have a culture of taking on projects where other companies walk away, and Project Managers must have the ability to step up to these challenges and sometimes work their way through uncharted waters. Some of the main responsibilities required from a Project Manager involve the following: Execution of projects against in-house project management procedures The development of projects from inception to commissioning Apply your engineering skills and background to support and verify engineering designs Plan and define the scope of work Activity planning and sequencing Resource planning Develop schedules Time estimating Cost estimating Develop a project budget as well as support departmental budgets Manage project documentation Manage risks and issues Monitor and report on progress Provide project team leadership Strategic influencing Work with suppliers and ensure competitive bidding Control quality Contribute to the company's strategic planning Maintain a good relationship with customers at all times Support our tender and project pursuits Assist with the development of junior personnel and subordinates Enforce the policies and procedures of the company and maintain a high level of work ethic, quality and discipline with the work force Coordinate individual project resources plans and support the endeavours of the engineering, workshop and installation services teams in this regard Candidate Requirements: Higher Diploma Electrical Engineering or BSc Electrical Engineering or GCC Electrical.
