Job Description

Responsibilities of theTechnical Service Administrator:

  • File required production and audit paperwork relating to intake, manufacture, curing, processing, cooking, cooling, storage, slicing, packing and dispatch.
  • Arrange their testing or retesting including collection by Laboratory testing provider.
  • Participate in Traceability exercises as and when requested
  • Reviewing production paperwork and translating key production details on to complaints system.
  • Verify the delivery packaging against the specifications.
  • Report issues with paperwork, filling, or staff not following factory procedures (arising from paperwork) to production personnel or via other technical personnel as appropriate.
  • Feedback specific critical issues raised from paperwork checking to appropriate technical or production personnel as appropriate in a timely manner.
  • Monitor completion of audits by technical personnel to specified frequency.
  • Liaise with contract laboratory provider as and when required to ensure all samples and swabs are tested as per schedule and all results are recorded
  • Provide appropriate certificates of analysis/conformance to customers.
  • Assist in the preparation and retrieval of information during internal and external audits and investigations.
  • Assist the wider Technical and QA department in other Quality Assurance issues as necessary.
  • Check chemical and microbiological parameters of results against the product declarations/ specifications and reporting to the Technical Services Supervisor or Manager any abnormalities
  • Log complaints and Cover weekly and monthly KPI reports when required.
  • Cover day-to-day responsibilities of the other Technical Services team members when required.
  • Any other task as reasonably requested by their line manager.

Requirements of the Technical Service Administrator


  • Excellent administrative skills with great attention to detail.
  • Qualification in food related subject would be advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of food legislation, safety, quality and customer requirements.
  • Excellent IT skills, including excellent MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of BRC standards would be advantageous.
