Job Description

Are you a dedicated Qualified Social Worker with a passion for making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young people?



An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Deputy Manager to support our UASC (Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children) service. This role offers the chance to work closely with the Team Manager and a dedicated social work team, providing essential support to children and young people in need.

Your Role:



  • Support the Team Manager with decision-making, chairing key meetings, and collaborating with multi-agency partners (Housing, Health, Education) to secure the best outcomes for young people.



  • Lead on recruitment, training, and supervision of team members, ensuring their professional development is a priority.



  • Advocate for young people within the care system, promoting stable placements and implementing long-term positive changes.



To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:



  • Diploma/Degree in Social Work and SW England registration.



  • Practice Educator qualification



  • Proven experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior Practitioner within Safeguarding or Permanence.



  • Strong understanding of legal frameworks and children's care pathways.



  • Confident in multi-agency collaboration and advocacy for young people.
