Job Description

Development Manager Fourways, Hybrid Qualifications: Recognized IT Degree / Diploma (advantageous). Requirements: A minimum of 6 or more years System Development experience using relevant programming, language or technologies, including 3 - 6 years experience in planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives as specified by more senior managers. Previous experience in the Financial Insurance industry (advantageous). KPAs: Oversee and prioritize IT Systems Development tasks by efficiently allocating resources and managing workloads. Lead a team of system developers to foster innovation and ensure compliance with Business IT Systems requirements. Define and maintain a roadmap for application software development, ensuring alignment with business needs and priorities. Develop innovative solutions by integrating and analysing complex information from various sources. Build and maintain relationships with relevant business and IT representatives, identifying and addressing their needs and concerns through effective communication and coordination. Communicate the implementation of the function's strategy and business plan within the team, motivating team members to commit to organizational goals. Develop tactical plans for optimizing resources and assets managed within the department. Manage and report on the performance of a diverse team, setting objectives and holding team members accountable for achieving them. Conduct research using primary data sources to analyse key themes and trends. Contribute to reporting strategies and templates, leading the execution of complex reports and translating insights into actionable recommendations. Evaluate staff capabilities, prioritize development activities, and implement development frameworks. Coach and mentor team members to support talent development. Plan and manage project delivery within area of expertise, ensuring intended outcomes are achieved. Develop and enhance existing applications, as well as contribute to the development of new applications to meet customer requirements. Participate in development activities and training to improve performance and maintain industry expertise. Monitor performance and behaviors to identify and resolve non-compliance with organizational policies and regulatory codes. Implement and provide input on security measures, monitoring performance and notifying security experts of any issues.
