SENIOR GIS TECHNICIAN

Key performance areas: Provide an efficient GIS support function to the Catchment, Stormwater and River Management Branch, associated with map production, data capturing, data analysis and technical support. Compile professional cartographic maps and map books. Capture, edit and maintain datasets in geodatabases. Respond to public enquiries by providing maps and data extracts. Manage the virtual drawing office by indexing and filing electronic engineering drawings. Provide GIS-related technical support to the branch. National Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in GIS or related field. 2 to 5 years experience required within the Geographic Information System environment. Proven proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (ESRI ArcGIS desktop software) and MS Office. Knowledge of GIS, relational databases, cartography and data analysis. Good communication and analytical skills.
