Licensed Customs Broker

Job Overview:

As a Licensed Customs Broker, you will be responsible for managing the import and customs clearance process for our clients. Your expertise in customs regulations and procedures will ensure compliant and efficient transportation of goods across international borders. You will serve as the primary point of contact for customs-related inquiries and collaborate with government agencies and clients to facilitate smooth import operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Customs Clearance: Oversee the preparation and submission of documentation required for the import and export of goods. Ensure that all entries are filed on time and goods are released from customs in a timely manner.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Keep up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and inform both team members and clients about relevant changes. Ensure all processes comply with governmental laws and regulations.

  • Client Consultation: Provide expert advice to clients on tariffs, duties, and import/export restrictions. Assist clients in minimizing costs associated with duties and taxes.

  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all transactions, audits, and compliance reports. Ensure documentation is available for inspections and audits by regulatory authorities.

  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with other departments, such as sales, logistics, and customer service, to optimize the supply chain and resolve any issues related to customs.

  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for team members on customs regulations and the proper procedures for handling customs documentation.

Requirements:

  • Certification: Must possess a valid Customs Broker License issued by [relevant government authority].

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in customs brokerage or a similar role within the freight forwarding industry.

  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, tariff schedules, and shipping documentation.

  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.

  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and government officials.

  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex issues related to customs and import processes.
