Job Description

We are expanding our team to add a new Technical Operative to our successful and growing company.


You’ll join as a skilled Scanning Technician and be given plenty of opportunities to develop your analytical skills and ability to use surveying equipment.


As a Scanning Technician, you will be part of a small team.


Your training will be further enhanced to ensure you can optimise how you conduct surveys and measurements to determine property boundaries, topographical features, and other relevant information.


Your new job with us as our Technical Operative / Scanning Technician:

  • Conduct surveys to establish property boundaries, including measuring distances and angles using specialized equipment
  • Prepare proposals, survey reports, maps, and drawings based on collected data
  • Analyse survey data to determine land elevations, contours, and other topographical features
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction professionals to provide accurate survey information for project planning and design
  • Utilize GPS technology and computer-aided design (CAD) software to assist in surveying tasks
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards during survey operations


You'll have many of the following in terms of experience, skills and personality traits:

  • Proven experience as a Technician or in a similar role
  • Experience in using surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS receivers, and levels
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyse survey data accurately
  • Familiarity with CAD software for drafting and mapping purposes
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Desire to join a UK-leader in its field and successful team winning major projects across the UK and internationally
