Job Description

We have a new opportunity to be part of the Quality team in the role of NDT Technician - Late Shift.


In this role you will be required to:

  • To manage the department in an efficient manner to meet the demands of the wider business, ensuring clear communication regarding Quality matters throughout the supply chain in a timely manner.
  • Provide procedures and processes to enable and maintain full compliance of quality.
  • Introduce and maintain quality standards documentation, applicable to the department.
  • Improve communication with Inspection, Procurement, Manufacturing and Design Office to successfully deliver quality parts, ensuring all processes have been carried out to the standard required, deviations are recorded and communicated.
  • Maintain accurate records of non-conforming components and support the supply chain in preventing reoccurrence through Quality Assurance activities.
  • To manage the NDT departments support of the preparation of parts for AMF1’s race cars with NDT methods. This includes Ultrasonic Inspection, Eddy Current Inspection, MPI Inspection, Dye Penetrant Inspection and Visual Inspection.
  • Be available to travel as and when required to fulfil the requirements of the role in which employed
  • To work proactively, responsibly, professionally, and confidently always. To respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure
  • To maintain and develop skill levels to aerospace standard and maintain a current and thorough working knowledge of NDT methods
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to your job role


Key skills:

  • Possess an excellent working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of NDT techniques and software’s.
  • Previous experience as NDT head or similar in a Formula One environment / high level Motorsport environment would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or similar.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Hold a minimum Level 2 NDT Qualification (EN4179/PCN).
  • Be able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of A-Scan and Phased Array Ultrasonic Inspection, both handheld and immersion and Eddy current.
  • Knowledge of X-Ray and CT scan would be advantageous.
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to convey NDT findings effectively and confidently to the design and stress teams and back up your results with facts.
  • To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues
  • To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment
  • Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills under pressure both at the AMRTC and trackside.
  • Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety
