Clip Machine Technician/Qualified Fitter 75161

Reporting to the Managing Director JOB PURPOSE: Operate, perform both planned and unplanned maintenance, and handle everyday repairs for machinery breakdowns. JOB FUNCTION: Inspection, Repair and Maintenance Plant, Equipment and Machines are inspected and repaired as per the monthly maintenance schedule or when a break down is reported and a repair requested Necessary checks on all repaired machines and/or equipment are performed periodically as required by production to make sure they are in a good working order Modifications to machines and equipment are performed when required Fault finding and problem solving on equipment Preventative and corrective maintenance is performed as per OHS regulations, quality standards and maintenance procedures Breakdown repairs are performed after hours when necessary Generate procedures and manuals for machinery when required Down time on equipment is minimised by performing the repair in the shortest time frame possible Production: Operation of the clip machine to meet daily and monthly production targets. Clip changeovers are carried out in a timely manner In-process inspections are performed as per intervals to ensure a quality product (QA) Perform QC checks on incoming strip steel coils Production scrap and overtime is kept to a minimum as per agreed target Goals with respect to goal alignment and Housekeeping 5S are agreed upon and achieved Compliance: Quality and safety standards and procedures are followed and adhered to on daily basis PPE is used as required by legislation and housekeeping is maintained daily in all shops Lockout procedures are always followed REQUIREMENTS: Qualified Fitter, and N3 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering At least 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Mechanical Press experience is an added advantage At least 3 years performing similar duties in an industrial environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and Outlook) Initiates action, manages own work, safety awareness, customer focused and good communication skills Able to use a range of tools and engineering techniques to maintain and repair mechanical plant machinery and equipment to operational standards Stays abreast of current fitting standards and practices as well as any developments around tooling used in the fitting trade The ideal candidate must have minimum of 3 years post trade work experience in production environment and mechanical press experience.
